We are currently short staffed any regrettably only able to deal with urgent medical problems today. If your problem is not urgent please consider visiting the pharmacy or the Walk-in Centre at Dewsbury Hospital. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Telephone Lines - Update 16.07.18

We are aware of a number of on-going problems with our new telephone system, and have issued our telephone provider with a number of changes to be made which should alleviate many of the issues. We apologise that these problems have not been resolved sooner and hope that phones will be working better very soon. Thank you for you patience and co-operation.

If you are calling for anything non-urgent such as results, prescription queries or a routine appointment with a nurse or healthcare assistant, please telephone us after 11am to help ease congestion early in the morning.

Please be aware that we have recently changed our main telephone number. Please make sure you save this number for future reference: 01274 399505. Calls to the old number will be diverted.


Ordering Prescriptions

From 1st April 2016, please allow 48 hours before collecting your prescription.

Telephoning the Surgery

We have changed the way that your call is handled by our automated system. When you telephone the surgery you will now be given 4 options. Please listen carefully and select the option most suitable to your enquiry. We hope that this will make it easier for patients to contact the surgery when they need to, and welcome feedback on the system.

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS

We are now live with electronic prescribing - ask at your pharmacy for a nomination form - your prescription can then be sent direct to them to be dispensed.

TEAM TRAINING

The practice closes regularly to enable the practice team to train together - this is usually on a Tuesday afternoon - please click on the links below to check the dates.

A charge is made for services that are outside our 'NHS' work.  These include some certificates to cover time off and for financial or insurance purposes.

Also included are passport applications, driving licences, vaccination certificates, and forms authorising private referrals. 

We endeavour to complete these within 10 working days. At busy times this might not always be possible, as clinical work has to come first. If you feel you need something more urgently than this, please let us know when making the request.

Medical examinations for special purposes such as elderly drivers, pre-employment, fitness to undertake sports, HGV or PSV drivers are carried out at the surgery by appointment.  Fees charged are in line with recommended BMA rates.
